An amazing demonstration of Aikido and ki from Sensei Barrish
This is a video from 1987 with Sensei Koichi Barrish who has since become Reverend Koichi Barrish, a Shinto High Priest. He still teaches Aiki regularly at the Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America in Granite Falls, Washington. Current information on Shinto and Aikido can be found at http://www.tsubakishrine.com/home.html
A very interesting and practical video on history, traditions and martial techniques of a reknown samurai tradition - AIKI JUJUTSU of the TAKEDA samurai clan. It is related to Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu and of course a source to the modern Aikido , founded by OSensei Ueshiba , student of Takeda Sogaku (Menkyokaiden level holder in Daito Ryu tradition)
Chuck Griffiths demonstrates the Aikido push ups as they were done under Kenshiro Abbe Sensei in the 1950s, they are still a part of the exercises at all the Ellis Schools of Traditional aikido in the UK and USA. http://www.british-aikido.com
He's not crap is he?
This video tries to portray some of the history of Aikido within the United Kingdom along with anecdotes /stories of historical relevance. The video contains previously unseen film footage which is very revealing. Techniques are performed by Sensei Ellis and Eastman at various venues over 40 years. Aikido in the UK has changed over the past 50 years, in some cases not for the better, this video is not about that entirely, It is about one mans belief that through his Aikido he can demonstrate the History of the art as taught to him and Sensei Eastman by Kenshiro Abbe Sensie before it is lost or changed forever. http://www.british-aikido.com
