Friends would come to my Art/Music studio in downtown Portland, to hang out, play music, work on projects (or help me to make kandi bead bracelets and necklaces for vending at events!) Somehow, 'Pro' DJs (ones that get paid to perform) found out, and asked to join in the FUN... WoW! we got to enjoy live music, created for us, for FREE! Awesome. 'DJs Nite Off' sessions: after the weekend to decompress... or before the weekend to warm-up & prepare... We did this for like 3 months (fall of 2000) :^ )
