AJPW - 6/9/95 - Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi vs. Akira Taue & Toshiaki Kawada 54:49

This is perhaps one of the best tag matches you'll ever see. Misawa and Kobashi have dominated the tag ranks as they have been the repeat champions of the Real World Tag League (93 and 94). Their dominance has been well known to Kawada and Taue. Kawada has not been able to beat Misawa is a tag or singles since splitting apart as a team in 1993. Now, it seems that Misawa and Kobashi has their opponent's number. Or do they?

  • After winning the Triple Crown title from Toshiaki Kawada in June of 1998, Kenta Kobashi looks to keep his title. The problem is, he has never beaten Misawa up to this point in a televised matchup. Misawa will look to become champion again. This won the match of the year honors from both Tokyo Sports and the Wrestling Observer in 1998.

  • Jumbo Tsuruta has been known as the best wrestler in Japan, and is the unquestioned ace wrestler of All Japan Pro-Wrestling. He has lost the Triple Crown title to Terry Gordy only three days before this match and looks to regain top contender status. His opponent is Mitsuharu Misawa. The former Tiger Mask II unmasked himself only a few weeks before this match. He is the young upstart looking to make a name for himself against the big dog in Tsuruta. Perhaps all would be promoters of pro-wrestling should look to this match as to how to establish a star and not bring down the established star at the same time.

  • Zero-One - 3-2-01 - Shinya Hashimoto & Yuji Nagata vs. Mitsuharu Misawa & Jun Akiyama. From the debut show of Zero-One, a pretty damn big tag team match in the main event. Not as epic as the names involved, but still a good match.

  • This match would signal the end of this storied tag rivalry. Can Kawada and Taue finally get the Real World Tag League win after being runner's-up the last two year previous? Can Misawa and Kobashi three-peat?
