  • The late Granville "Granny" Klink, Jr. (1909-97), Chief Engineer for CBS and WTOP, is the guest of Chuck Langdon & Lee Shephard in the first of two Out of the Past programs, (recorded in 1994). Beginning his long radio career in the 1930’s, he worked with Presidents from Franklin Roosevelt to Richard Nixon. In this program, he shows one of the microphones used by President Roosevelt in his weekly “Fireside Chats.” Granny was truly one of the “pioneers” of the broadcast industry.
