International Tiger Coalition & World Bank launch of the Tiger Conservation Initiative to save the tiger from extinction in the wild.
Big Cat Rescue planned for this escape for months. Last year a baby bobcat call came in as the third one in three weeks. He only had one eye and a lump on his belly the size of an orange. Big Cat Rescue was there to get him the medical attention he needed. Emergency surgery repaired the hernia in his abdominal wall. The swelling was the contents of his intestines and other internal organs that had spilled out of the muscled area and were rubbing away at the inner lining of his skin. The attending vet, Dr. Liz Wynn, believes that his hernia and missing eye were caused by some sort of trauma. The area where he was found is completely surrounded by development in West Tampa, but bobcats are often reported there and last year one was found as road kill. After months of recuperation and rehabilitation, Chance the yearling bobcat was released. Watch the movie and see his wild dash for freedom. See the video more clearly on our ChatBigCat.com site.
When we left off last time, the baby bobcat Hope had gotten her first whole prey food item, but thought it was a toy. Watch this episode of bobcat vs mouse to see if she figures out that it is food. Big Cat Rescue 12802 Easy Street Tampa, FL 33625 813.920.4130 Info@BigCatRescue.org

In Baby Bobcat Day 1 you met a little bobcat kitten who was found on a busy road and rescued by Big Cat Rescue. At the end of that video we were putting out a call for a momma cat with nursing kittens to help the bobcat imprint on cats rather than humans during her nursing stage. Witness the tense moments of the introduction of mother cat to baby bobcat. Reaching Out- A Special Tour for our Veterans. -Since Big Cat Rescue only offers educational guided tours at select times 6 day a week, it allows our cats a sanctuary home as well as the comfort of doing special tours at times so that the guest can have the place to themselves. Tours allow us a chance to tell the plight of these big cats in captivity and in the wild. We recently did a free tour for a group of veterans from our local V.A. hospital. Since a number of our own members are former military it is always a meaningful experience. This video allows you to come along on that tour. We ask that no matter what your political views are, to please support your local veterans associations. http://www.va.gov/ *We want to thank Smokey Bones Restaurant of Citrus Park for providing them with a free lunch. Thank you, http://www.bigcatrescue.org
