I call it a lodge because it reminded me of large wooden gathering structures used by tribes in North America. This is in South Korea, however [Cheonghakdong Folk Village west of Jinju]. Note the drums -- another essential element in common between the traditional peoples of both continents.

Images captured in the circular plaza below Samseong Palace at Cheonghakdong Folk Village in South Korea. A group of 200 or so people in that village live according to the customs and fashion of a sect from the Joseon Dynasty (or earlier?). The palace and grounds are an important cultural and religious site for them (and many other Koreans, as it memorializes the ancient founders of their country).
