This video is of a play that was performed at the Hawaii United Okinawa Associations Performance Hall. It took place August 30th 2007. The play is the Story of Toyama Kyuzo who is considered to be the father of Okinawan Emmigration to Hawaii and from there the world. The play is performed by the Children of Kin Town Okinawa who came to Hawaii to help celebrate the 25th Annual Okinawa Festival. It was Produced by Daiichii Harata a famous choreographer from Okinawa Japan who also did the closing ceremony for the 4th worldwide uchinanchu festival in Okinawa in 2006. Enjoy!
This was a joint performance between the Chicago Okinawa Kenjinkai and the Kariyushi Kai of Okinawa Japan. This performance took place in Chicago Illinois in 2004.
