Fun with Physics in Second Life 02:37

LL is finally updating the Havok physics engine in Second Life. Weee! I feel like newbie again. I spent many hours tinkering with the physics when I first logged into SL almost two years ago. This new update is pretty impressive so far - still only on the beta grid tho. The speed improvements are quite noticeable, and the Sphere prim is especially intersting now that thethe .01 meter gap from the old system is gone. Spheres can actually collide and rest against other objects now. Even for a beta test the system seems pretty stable at one point I had roughly 1,500 physics enabled boxes in a huge pile. The sim sort of hiccuped for a moment, but then went about it's business like nothing was happening. :)
