New Avengers #42, Justice League of America #22 and Mighty Avengers #15 10:55

Up first it's New Avengers #42. The guys like the story about Spiderwoman's past, and Alex makes a funny reference to Metalocalypse. Next it's Justice League of America #22. The guys don't really like the Red Tornado story line, and think the issue is a little akward for a flagship DC title. Then it's Mighty Avengers #15. The guys love it and think you should pick it up. During the Speed Round we look at Zorro #4, Guardians of The Galaxy #2, Wolf #1, and Black Belt Hamsters #4. Finishing up, Morg writes in: "Are there any experiences or influences that have shaped your comic book tastes as adults?" Be sure to tune in and see what the guys' answers are! Be sure to watch The Stack three times a week, and send your comments and questions to tips@pulpsecret.com!

  • Up first it's look at Patsy Walker Hellcat #1. Alex really loves writer Kathy Immonen's style of writing. Next up it's Superman #677. This issue was written by Justin's all-time favorite writer James Robinson (formerly of the Starman series). Then we look at the debut issue of Squadron Supreme. The guys like this series, and are really anticipating the next issue. During this edition of the Speed Round we look at Pilot Season: Alibi, Ultimate Spiderman #123, Iron Fist #16, No Hero #0, and Fire and Brimstone #1. Finishing up, Matt writes in: "Captain America is coming out in 2011, who would you like to see play Captain America?" Pete makes a hilarious Nicholas Cage joke. Be sure to watch the episode to find out what they think. Who do you think should play Captain America? Let us know. • Alex get's right to the reviews with a look at Avengers/Invaders #2. Pete thinks this title is similar to Secret Invasion and Alex and Justin have some criticisms about the storyline. Next up it's the continuation of Batman RIP in Batman #677. The guys think that this issue has improved greatly over the first Batman RIP issue. Next up it's Invincible Iron Man #2. Everybody loves this issue and says to pick it up. During the Speed Round it's The Sword #8, Hawksmoor #3, Blue Beetle #27, Young Avengers Presents #5, and Batman: Gotham After Midnight. Finishing off, Steven Tan writes in asking what X-Men titles new readers should check out. Pete says to pick up Astonishing X-Men. Justin recommends looking at the Age of Apocalypse. • Matt's been a fan of Batman the Animated series since he was 12 years old, so when Kevin Conroy returns to voice the Dark Knight, there is reason to rejoice. Even if Christian Bale hadn't sounded like a death metal singer under the cowl. Nat's always up for more Batman, and we both have quite a bit to say on both sides of this Six-Part addition to Nolan's Batman.

  • Today, we're checking out an indie OGN: Nathan The Caveman by Ben Bishop. Then we look at a comic book "mix tape": Popgun Volume 2. Lots of great short stories. Good stuff! Then, we dip into our viewer mail and talk about how to break into the comic book industry without having any artistic talent.
