NBC and MySpace are having a competition to send a Citizen Reporter to the Democratic and Republican Conventions, here's my audition tape - I hope you'll go to myspace.com/decision08 to give me a thumbs up! Help send me to the conventions.
Citizen Kate finally finds the real party and learns what it takes to be a Libertarian. I was so excited to go to the Libertarian National Convention in Denver. It was liberating compared to some of the other political parties I've been too. Everyone was excited to talk to me. So much so that I spoke with almost every Libertarian Presidential Candidate directly, including the official Libertarian Presidential candidate, Bob Barr, his running mate, Wayne Allyn Root, and the Democratic turned Libertarian candidate, Mike Gravel. I learned firsthand that Libertarians stand for anything to do with personal freedom and less government. It's like they want to elect themselves out of a job eventually, and live a free and prosperous life. What's not to like about Libertarians? They love peace, drugs and rock 'n roll, which of course makes them the best party to go to. Note to self: Become a Libertarian, to say and do whatever you want. Vote Libertarian to "help the other guy win".
Citizen Kate finds the key to peace at a Libertarian Pot and Tea party. I went to my first ever pot and tea party sponsored by the Marijuana Project at the Libertarian National Convention in Denver. I was looking for peace. And there's nothing more peaceful than weed. Just ask the Native Americans. They passed around the pipe to stop war. So I ate everything looking for "peace". I wonder if all Libertarian candidates enjoy the peace weed? Can you imagine Bob Barr smoking from the peace pipe? Or Mike Gravel? Or Lady Liberty? Think about it. If we all smoked weed, soldiers in Iraq would be laughing and hugging each other. Peace and hugs. Note to self: We need to stop all wars, including the war on drugs. Even Homeland Security knows that. Peace and hugs.
Wow, raising money is fun, especially when it's mixed with Obamatinis and McCain Old Fashioned's.
Citizen Kate meets up with some A-list Politicians, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, at the Libertarian National Convention in Denver. I'm so excited. I went to my first big Libertarian event--a masquerade ball. I dressed as the future Lady Liberty. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning for...freedom. The night was a total blast. Libertarians really know how to party. Wearing masks allows you to be free to say what you want any old time. I poured drinks for freedom, met Presidential elect Bob Barr, and hung with some of this nation's forefathers like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. I can't believe it! I actually spent most of my evening with Hillary Clinton. A lot of people don't know the real Hillary. But I do. I know that she'll always keep what's best for this nation in mind. And the woman can dance! She's smokin'. Note to self: If your party sucks, go to another. Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Peace and Freedom. You choose.

Greater than the Average Joe Biden
Citizen Kate caught up with Barack's official running mate Joe Biden for an exclusive 2-minute interview. I had the opportunity to chat with Joe Biden in Iowa during the primaries. I thought he was a real straight shooter. And was disappointed when he dropped out of the race so quickly after Iowa. Before I had the chance to edit and post this video. Well, now Biden’s back in the game. And I’m not surprised that Barack picked him as his running mate. In fact, when people asked me who I thought Barack would pick, I said a person with lots of experience like Biden. He's been in politics for like 80 years or something. Although, I was secretly hoping for the -- Obama & Kate in 2008 ticket. It rhymes! Note to self: If you want to be VP, you need to stay up late to answer everyone's questions.
August 25, 2008 - Citizen Kate discovers during an interview with Arianna Huffington and her Michelle Obama moment at the DNC that every great leading lady has her own style and failure is simply a stepping stone. My first day at the Democratic National Convention was amazing. I went to 2008 Future Frontrunner event sponsored by Lifetime, CosmoGirl and Declare Yourself. They had so many amazing female leaders from politics speaking candidly and giving direction to young women to help shape the next generation of female great leaders. I actually had the opportunity to meet up with Arianna Huffington, the founder of the Huffington Post, and truly inspirational speaker. I finished the night attending Michelle Obama's speech. The 2008 Democratic National Convention is all about female power, for today, at least. Note to self: Every female leader has her own style. Find yours and embrace it.
Citizen Kate spends the day with the Amish and Mennonites in Indiana to discover how they feel about the Voter ID Law, which could take away their right to vote. I spent a wonderful day with my new friends at the Miller Buggy Line Tours and Menno-Hof Center in Shipshewana. The Amish and Mennonites are simple, lovely, and very green people. Al Gore should hang out with them to realize the real inconvenient truth is that this community of super green people people may loose their right to vote. I learned firsthand what this community thinks about voting, the candidates and great leaders. So I spoke with one Amish man, and one liberal Mennonite, Joe Yoder, who's name is all over the town. Yoder's are very popular there. They must love Star Wars! Note to self: Sometimes people choose not to vote. But they should always have the choice.

Citizen Kate: Stars and Stripes and Mace
Dateline - St. Paul, the Republican National Convention. I found myself in the middle of a riot - and it turns out that fashion sense was what saved me from being clobbered, although I may not have worn the right shoes. It turns out that the delegates were bussed from their hotels to fully gated area of the Invesco Center, so they had no idea of the scope of these daily protests or that kids were being beaten up. We were never sure of what for since we didn't ever see anyone do anything but react to the police. There was so little main stream media coverage of the daily protests outside the RNC that I felt an actual bit of journalistic pride for reporting this.
