Olympics 2008 Williams/Williams vs. Garrigues/Pascual 11:24

Serena and Venus lost both in their quarterfinal matches in singles, but would they leave China immediately, hell no cause they still were in the doubles draw. They did not play really convincing in any of their matches in their road to the final. The Spanish pair did even have a tougher time, surviving marathong matches. Who would win the Gold, the Williams sisters like in 2000, or would Vivi and Annabel win their first gold together. Enjoy the highlights!

  • Serena Williams started the year ranked really low, almost out of the top 100, but to everyone his or her surprise, except for the real die-hard Serena fans, she won the Australian Open that year and she reached the final without dropping a set. Justine Henin also had her comeback that year winning the two big tournaments in Doha and Dubai. Henin almost lost to Razzano, because she was down 1-5 in the final set and also had breathing problems, who would win this final? Enjoy the Highlights!

This was also the first Grand Slam, where she wore clothes from Nike, who offered her a monster clothing contract! In the fourth round Serena was supposed to meet Schnyder, but she was knocked out by Asagoe, and instead of Sugiyama, it was this Japanese girl who fought her way to the fourth round to set up a clash with Serena. Would Serena win easily as is expected, or would Asagoe threaten Serena? Here are the highlights of Serena Williams vs. Shinobu Asagoe

  • In 2007 Venus came back from a left wrist injury and being inspired by sister Serena who won the Australian Open at the beginning of the year, Venus also wanted to win a Grand Slam. While sister Serena was knocked out, Venus was even more determined to get the title. In her way to the final, she met youngster Ivanovic from Serbia who already reached the Roland Garros final. Ivanovic already saved match points against Vaidisova on her way to the semi-final, Venus had two tough encounters in the early stages, but then later on she knocked out Sharapova and Kuznetsova easily. Would Ivanovic continue her best year to date or would Venus and her perfect semi-final win/loss record come out on top? I'd say watch these highlights and enjoy it since there is sensational grass court tennis to witness!
