http://www.NGTV.com Welcome to an EXCLUSIVE and UNCENSORED interview with one of the hottest sensations in the world of hip hop, AKON on the ultimate show for the Hip Hop fan NO GOOD TV's HUSTLA'S BALL!! To see part two and for more uncensored music visit NO GOOD TV at http://www.ngtv.com/?channelId=dmv&clipIdNum=537033450 Akon often goes by the shorter, Alioune Thiam, though other sources have said his name is Alioune Badara Thiam, The long form of his name, "Alioune Badara Akon Thiam," has been independently verified on an interview for smash time radio.com. He is the son of jazz percussionist, Mor Thiam. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri but grew up in Senegal until he was seven. He split time between Senegal and the U.S. until he was fifteen, then his family permanently moved to Jersey City, New Jersey and as such he speaks English, French, and Wolof. He recorded his first song, "Operations of Nature," at the age of fifteen. He was jailed for armed robbery and drug distribution charges, and used his time in prison to work on his music. Upon release, Akon began writing and recording tracks in his home studio. The tapes found their way to SRC/Universal, which released Akon's debut LP Trouble in June 2004. The album is a hybrid of Akon's silky, West African-styled vocals mixed with East Coast and Southern beats. http://www.NGTV.com Enjoy the completely UNCENSORED cut of the hot track "LA RHUMBA" from RZA aka BOBBY DIGITAL. Digital Bullet is RZA's second album under his alias, Bobby Digital. It's no shock that he brought Bobby back; the first Digital outing, Bobby Digital in Stereo, was a high mark in the Wu Tang Clan producer's prolific career. What is a bit surprising is the sound of this effort, which frequently stretches all the way back to the mystical murk of the Clan's first album, Enter the Wu-Tang. The muffled beats and disorienting, late-night soundscapes of that hip-hop classic have been imitated countless times since its 1993 release, but nobody does 'em like the Rizza, and uneasy tracks like "Must Be Bobby" and "Domestic Violence Pt. 2" seem to bring him full circle — as does the presence of several Clan members, including the legendary ODB. Even the nods to the mainstream — "Glocko Pop" and the swaying single "La Rhumba" — seem, like RZA's best work, to have arrived from a slightly different dimension. Meanwhile, there is a storyline to this installment of the Digital story, but as on In Stereo, listeners have to use some imagination to fill it out; RZA's rhymes are often as evocative and opaque as the kung-fu flicks he loves. But as always, he creates tracks that are more about atmosphere than message — and when he's on his game, as he is here, it's hard to argue with that approach. http://www.NGTV.com From the DMV channel on NO GOOD TV comes the UNCENSORED, DIRECTOR's CUT of the classic R&B joint "Supa Star" from the soul maestro Montell Jordan. For more uncensored music videos visit the DMV channel on NO GOOD TV at http://www.ngtv.com/?channelId=dmv&clipIdNum=537033450 Born in Los Angeles, California, Montell Jordan made a huge impact in both the US and UK charts in 1995 with the runaway success of his Def Jam Records` single `This Is How We Do It`. Utilising a sample from Slick Rick, this celebration of life in South Central, Los Angeles, struck a chord with both hip-hop fans and modern R&B audiences. Within weeks of release it entered the US R&B Top 10 and then the pop charts, preceding a debut album of the same title. This included several B.B. King samples and a guest rap from Coolio on the excellent `Payback`. The lyrics also diverged somewhat from typical Californian swing subjects - `Daddy`s Home` addressing the importance of black fatherhood in the ghettos. He attributes his development in an otherwise hostile environment to the rare presence of both a father and mother as he grew up. Rather than running with the gangs in the `South Central `hood`, Jordan attended both church and school regularly, eventually graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu with a degree in Organisational Communication. However, his growing interest in music eventually diverted him from a projected career in law. Jordan has built on the success of This Is How We Do It with a series of stylish urban R&B collections. The title track to Let`s Ride, featuring No Limit Records stars Master P and Silkk The Shocker, reached US number 6 in April 1998. The follow-up, `I Can Do That`, broke into the Top 20 in September. Jordan returned to the charts in November 1999 with Get It On ... Tonite, the title track of which became a Top 5 single the following March.
