The Goodies help a bed time drink Venom sell, by renaming it Snooze. Graeme also comes up with a new and improved Snooze that ends up putting the whole country to sleep.
The Goodies are running their own holiday service. The Detectives Club book their annual holiday on the 'Detectives Mystery Tour', and several famous detectives arrive to go on the mystery train.
When the Goodies attend an art auction at Sotheby's, Tim is interested in a Renoir painting, while Bill is interested in the Monarch of the Glen painting. Tim is horrified to find that a portrait painting is being bid for by Americans, who are all willing to bid huge amounts of money for art treasures, so Tim rushes in to save the priceless work of art for Britain.
The Goodies have become Advertising Men and Tim is horrified at the lies they tell about the products they advertise. Tim wants them to advertise about string, because he is of the opinion that string is pure.

The Goodies are asked by a Police Sergeant to help him gain a promotion. Tim, Graeme and Bill decide to commit a crime so that the Police Sergeant can catch them and earn his promotion that way.
The Goodies find a man about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge and talk him out of doing so. It turns out that the man is the zookeeper in charge of in the brand new Monster House at the London Zoo and that he is depressed because he does not have a monster exhibit to put into it. The zookeeper mentions that he used to be the keeper in charge of the Snowdon Aviary at the zoo.
