Good ol' bluebloods. Banana-nuts crazy? Maybe. But if she had a purse she'd definitely clutch it around "those types" in the elevator... In memory of "Brooks" the black groundskeeper, who not only had the unenviable position of subordinate to a pair of broke, crazy hobo ladies, but didn't even get an honorable mention in the HBO feature. In this clip from "Grey Gardens," Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, first cousin to Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, (whoopty freekin doo?) provides a candid moment in the 1975 documentary film by Albert and David Maysles. (Grey Gardens was the name of the Beale Estate in East Hampton where the two women lived together, financially destitute, in squalor and almost total isolation. When the Beale women faced eviction and the razing of their home in full public view, Jacqueline Onassis and her sister, Lee Radziwill, provided the necessary funds to stabilize and repair the dilapidated and subhuman condition of the house so that it would meet Village codes in the summer of 1972.) Highlighted in this clip, Little Edie gets insecure over "not being careful" around the black groundskeeper, Brooks. In fairness, ol' girl did have a fat ass, rest in peace.

As their wealth and contact with the outside world dwindled, so did their grasp on reality. They were reintroduced to the world when international tabloids learned of a health department raid on their home, and Jackie swooped in to save her relatives.
