Theatrical trailer for, BEHIND THE MASK, the second of three films in Monogram's abbreviated series based on the popular "Shadow" radio program. Though the thrift-conscious films did have atmospheric moments and a capable lead in Kane Richmond, the series, as a whole, failed to retain the radio's series mysterious, noirish feel, emphasizing the comedic elements and adding moments of same that were out of place in a thriller. SUPERMAN (1950), reported be the most finacially successful serial of all-time. In addition to three other non-comic book hero cliffhangers, 1953, he would play BLACKHAWK in the 1952 chapterplay and was announced by Republic Pictures to star as COMMANDO CODY, a role which eventually went to Judd Holdren. He is aptly remembered as "The Last of the Serial Kings."
