A huge Indian contingent embarks on a dangerous cat-and-mouse trail of capturing DON (Shah Rukh Khan) - the ruthless drug mafia in Malaysia. When DON gets seriously injured in a police encounter, the word that he is dead begins to do the rounds. The reality, of course, is that DON is held captive in a secret location, while his bumpkin of a look-alike, Vijay, is polished and sent to take down DON's gang. In a bizarre twist of fate, when the man shielding the humble and streetwise Vijay, is killed, the latter comes to terms with the horrifying realization that both the police and the gang are out to nab him for different reasons. Love Story 2050 focuses on Karan (Harman Baweja) and Sana (Priyanka Chopra). Karan is a young, spirited and happy go lucky boy who doesn't follow the rules. Sana is just the opposite of Karan. She is a sweet, shy and petite girl who lives life by the rules. Even though they are completely opposite to each other, they fall in love and this leads to a beautiful and magical love story.
ACP Jaideep Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) a no-nonsense cop, is called inside the case. He is married to Sweety Dixit (Rimi Sen). Jaideep seeks the help of a convict named Ali Baig (Uday Chopra) and devises a trap to catch the gang, but it fails. Kabir Sharma(John Abraham), the leader of the gang, eventually taunts Dixit by saying that he couldn't catch Kabir even if he were right in front of him. He is proved correct and the failure of Dixit seemingly leads to the break-up of his partnership with Ali. Kabir then lures Ali into his gang to replace Rohit Shergill, the gang member who was killed by Jaideep. Ali falls in love with Sheena Lalwani (Esha Deol), another gang member. The gang later goes to Goa to perform one last big heist before becoming disbanded forever. Kabir now sets his eyes on the biggest casino in all of India. Kabir and his gang swiftly loot the casino on New Year's Eve, but soon they realize that Jaideep has led them right into a trap. Ali was working for Jaideep the whole time and a fight ensues. Kabir manages to escape from Jaideep, and goes back to the gang's truck where Ali has tied up Sheena. Kabir then viciously beats up Ali for his betrayal. Kabir holds Ali at gunpoint, and is about to shoot him when suddenly a mysterious shot hits Kabir in the hand. The gang minus Sheena then boards the truck, while Jai and Ali follow. A fight ensues between Kabir and Jai on top of the truck. While Ali fights the other gang members Rahul Mehta and Tony Singh inside and fights his way into the driver's seat. Kabir tries to escape on his bike. He is then cornered by Jai and Ali with nowhere to go. Kabir decides to commit suicide instead of going to jail, and rides his bike over the edge of the cliff and into the water. The movie ends with Jaideep and Ali bickering over Ali's induction into the police force.
