Lovely Complex is a comedy between a boy and a girl. The girl, Risa Koizumi, is 170 cm tall - much taller than the average Japanese girl. The boy, Atsushi Otani, is 159 cm - way below the average height of the average Japanese boy. Because of this, they are known as their school's comedy duo because there is a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference. So people also call them "All Hanshin Kyojin" team. Love, sex, and the confusing gray area in between marks the playing field for this low-key comedy-drama.. Chinatsu (Okuno Mika) is a twenty-something lesbian who shares an apartment with Kyoko (Chika Fujimura). Shinsuke has been going on with his uneventful daily life, with "synesthesia" being the only symptom differentiating him from others.
