"JÃ³ga" is a song by BjÃ¶rk, and the first single from her 1997 album Homogenic. The chorus has repetition of the phrase "state of emergency" but does not feature the song title: it is a dedication to her close friend JÃ³hanna JÃ³hannsdÃ³ttir (nicknamed JÃ³ga) and to their homeland Iceland. The song features volcanic beats mixed with romantic strings. BjÃ¶rk wanted this effect for Homogenic, where the song can be found. The music video was directed by Michel Gondry and filmed in Iceland.
