The big day arrives, Archie must complete the tasks traditionally set by his regimental friends. Will Mandy get to the church on time? Will Matthew get to the church at all?
Archie's mother and sister are coming to dinner, Mandy is drunk, she passes out and there are crabs loose in the flat. Fortunately, Martin come to the rescue with his microwave-cookery prowess.
Matt declares his ambition to join the Marines in memory of his brother Danny, who died in a road accident days before he was due to qualify as a Marine. Mandy and Martin are suspicious as Matt has never mentioned Danny before.
Martin bumps into Clare in the video shop and discovers that she has a baby - a ginger-haired baby named Rosie.
Matt has taken up palmistry as an aid to seduction; but how can he seduce women without leaving the flat? Mandy has built up debts of over £9,000 using her credit cards and now a female debt collector is on her trail. Mandy's money problems are solved by an interest-free loan from her millionaire boss Archie. Meanwhile, Martin hears news of Clare.

Martin realizes that Clare left him because he's boring. He starts a voluntary job working for a telephone helpline for distressed people. He gives his home phone number to Tesni, one of the helpline's clients. She rings the flat while Matt is at home alone and thinking that Matthew is Martin, she threatens to commit suicide unless he visits her home. Matt goes round to see her but when he gets there, he collapses and has to be rushed to hospital. Martin arrives at the hospital looking for Clare. Mandy also turns up and Matt meets Susie - a ginger student.

Jason persuades Matt to venture outdoors to the local park. Gaining more confidence, Matt accompanies Jason to his gym, a gym packed with gay men. Is Matt about to come further 'out' than he planned?
Matthew meets a nurse called Clare and asks her out. During their date, she tells Martin that she is desperate to lose her virginity. Martin - playing it cool but just as desperate to lose his agrees to meet Clare on her next day off and 'do it'. The prospect of finally doing it has made Martin nervous. Will his nerves hold out? Will Matt beat him to it?
Martin is very depressed about the end of his relationship with Clare; Mandy has a close encounter with Brian Kennedy, a lecturer from her old university and Martin and Mandy find out what Matthew has been writing in his secret journal.
Martin can't stop talking about his newfound sex life. Matthew confesses to Mandy that he's terrified of going out of the house, so she arranges for him to meet her psychologist friend Jason. Unknown to Matthew, Jason is gay, he's also unaware that Jason has fallen in love with him.
