Moe, Larry, and Joe discover that Joe's fiancee's ring has been stolen. The Stooges suspect it is Elmo, a muscular bully who works at their plant. The Stooges come face to face with him in the company gym, but when they try to make him give the ring back by physical force, the plan backfires and Moe and Larry are knocked senseless. Vagrants Moe, Larry and Joe answer a want ad for merchant seamen, and arrive at the futuristic house of eccentric Professor A. K. Rimple, and his beautiful assistant/daughter. Rimple's house is actually a rocket ship, and the Stooges find themselves shanghaied for a trip to the planet Sunev (Sunev is Venus spelled backwards, but don'tchu tell somebody, it's a secret!). Exploring the planet surface, the Stooges are captured by amazon cannibals and inadvertantly saved by the arrival of a giant-sized reptile monster. Returning to the ship, the boys accidentally knock out the Rimples, and are left to pilot the ship to safety by themselves before the monster destroys it. 1957
The Stooges are detectives and take a case to find a man's missing daughter. They dress as pie salesmen and investigate the area around where she was first missing. Discovering a spooky old house, they are locked in and come across a mad scientist, his hatchetman, and a gorilla. They eventually rescue the girl, with the help of the gorilla. 1953
It's Joe's camera, the picnic was his idea, and the photograph he took of a blowing paper plate belongs to him. But lazy cousins Moe and Larry interpret the photo as a snapshot of a flying saucer, and use it to win $10,000 in a magazine's candid photo contest. The magazine, however, gets wise to the fraud and throws Moe and Larry in jail. Lonely, Joe returns to the woods hoping to get a picture of a real flying saucer, and reunite his family. 1958
A Car-Tune Portrait was an early cartoon by pioneering animator Max Fleischer. Released on June 26th, 1937, it gave an imaginative take on Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-sharp Minor. The cartoon features a lion dressed up as a musical conductor, attempting to keep his orchestra of animal musicians in order as they half-play, half-fight their way through the piece. Memorable moments include a Dachshund playing the xylophone using his back legs while the rest of him sleeps, a group of monkeys using a flute as a pea-shooter to fire at their fellow musicians, and a horse trombonist who attempts to swat a fly using his instrument but who only succeeds in hitting the dog trumpeter in front of him.
The Stooges are actors in Mexico who have just been fired, leaving them stranded. Their friend Greta helps them out by getting them a job, but when Joe kisses her, her husband comes along and vows to kill all three if he sees them again. Unfortunately, he sees them when they do their comedy bullfight act, so he lets a real bull into the ring, and Joe is really in for it now! 1959
The Stooges are "used chariot" salesmen in ancient Egypt, and try to gyp a customer who turns out to be the captain of the Pharoh's guard. He drags them to the palace to demand their execution, but the boys become the Pharaoh's chamberlains, instead, when Shemp cures the Pharaoh's toothache. Enjoying their new duties, the Stooges overhear a conversation between the captain and a corrupt tax collector, and discover a plot to steal the Pharaoh's gold! 1948
From 1959, this was the Stooges last short film. Probably the best of the films with Joe Besser. Stranded in Mexico, the stooges need a job and a pretty actress friend gets them an engagement at the Plaza de Toros. When they accidentally switch suitcases with that of their friend, they must sneak into her house to retrieve their own and are confronted by her jealous husband who vows to kill them if he sees them again. At the arena where they perform a comedy bullfight (Joe is the matador, Moe and Larry are in a bull costume) the husband bribes the attendants to let a real bull into the ring. Joe knocks the bull out with a head butt and becomes a hero.
The Stooges' 10-year engagement to their fiancees has reached the end of their future father-in-law's patience. He gives them one week to earn enough money to marry his daughters, or they'll be promised to the three plumbers down the street. So Moe, Larry & Shemp promise to keep their garage open night and day if necessary. The garage's first new customers are three gangsters, and the leader's moll, who've wrecked their car escaping from the police. Assuming that the Stooges have made a overtures to the moll, the hoods decide to 'silence' our heroes. 1953
