……I last flew a hang glider. I used to hang glide from 1973 through 1982 then I stopped. On 4/29/08 at Sylmar Flight Park I took my first tandem flight/lesson with Joe Greblo, lead instructor from WindSports in Sylmar, CA. Our flight lasted about 31 minutes in moderate turbulence with ratty, broken up thermals. Maximum gain was only 500’ before we ran out of lift. The last time I flew at Sylmar was in 1974 on an 18’ Flexi Flyer. I and am now in the process of getting my wings back, thanks in large part to Joe’s patience and excellent teaching skills. Watch and listen, as Joe drills me on proper technique while I'm obviously pretty rusty and gravitate towards my old ways and habits. I have got a lot to learn to get my Hang 3 reinstated and will be using the full 37 minutes video to help remind me along with lots of practice and input from the excellent instructors over the coming months.
