In Thailand, the Buddhist New Year begins with SONGRAN on April, 13th. It involves most of all plenty of water. Nowadays the SONGRAN Festival, especially in Pattaya, has lost some of its religious significance and has become a more profane, but nevertheless colourful, passionate and often amusing waterbattle, celebrated in every corner of the city.
