my parents got a 2008 crossfire and omg that is a sick ass car! my dad has prowler ang that is a pretty sick car but i cant wait for my 16th birth day to get my Lamborghini!

This is art. The builders of these cars are expressing an appreciation of the beauty and potential of machines. It's no more a waste of resources than, say, an Alexander Calder sculpture. As cars, sure, they're idiotic. But as art? Well, you can't really judge art in terms of utility or resource use, can you?
