The arctic cold that descended on New Mexico overnight is making the morning jarring for everybody, but for the homeless the cold is particularly brutal. The Albuquerque Rescue Mission south of downtown Albuquerque was busy well before daylight serving the homeless who had survived the night on the streets with temperatures well below freezing. At about 5:30, the first bus full of homeless arrived at the shelter at Second and Coal where they could warm up and receive a warm breakfast. Shelter officials say they need more supplies.
