No more procrastinating: Christmas is here. But for the scores of shoppers still set on finding that perfect gift, the next few hours may involve more hurrying than holiday cheer. Catherine Ross was out with the crowds and she shows us the ups and downs of the last minute shopping rush. For those out and about these last precious hours before Christmas, there's a mix of adrenaline and exhaustion in their eyes... "Some people look like they have a panicked look on their face, like, I gotta find something!" "I am the last minute shopper!" "Picking up a few last minute things." "Then you're hustling, you're like, I gotta get something!" And before you start putting words in their mouths, they'll tell you why they waited so long to start hitting the pavement, or the linoleum, in search of that perfect gift. "I just procrastinate, don't get out to the stores in time." "Procrastinators!" "Because it's the last day before Christmas!" "I do it at the last minute thinking, maybe I can get a deal on something." And getting a deal is very possible this week...as bargain hunters and retail employees alike will tell you... "We're seeing more things on sale." "We probably saved about a good $150 there, because they had a lot of good sales in Herbergers." (Toni Conway / KMart Store Manager) "Apparel are on sale. It's either 50% off, buy one get one free, jewelery is discounted an additional discount, and of course, a lot of toys are marked down." But, of course, there are some pitfalls to the process as well... "There's a lot of stuff sold out. We couldn't find any Minnesota stuff!" "The inventory is down, for what I'm looking for, so it makes it harder." (Toni Conway / KMart Store Manager) "It's true, there's not a lot of inventory with regard to what people want." And if, like many of us, you've got a few stocking stuffers left to find, take it from a fellow shopper, and avoid wandering the aisles... "Come with a game plan."
