Eyewitness News 4 has more details about a shooting that took place in Espanola on Monday where 25-year-old Joshua Quintana stole a police vehicle after being arrested. Just after 3 p.m. on Monday, Quintana's grandfather had called 911 to report that his grandson and four others were stealing tools from his home. Three officers on duty went to the scene where they arrested five people. Police say Quintana was able to put his handcuffs in front of him, roll down the back window of the police SUV, and climb out. Then, they say he got back in the driver's seat and took off. That's when two officers opened fire and hit the driver. Quintana was found about a mile away hiding in an abandoned house. Medics transported him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
