two albuquerque minute thumbnail 04:31 pm police officers are on standard leave-- and two men are in the hospital... after a confrontation that ended with police officers opening fire. it happened shortly after 9:30 last night. misa maruyama is live near indian school and lousiana with the latest on the investigation. misa? police say it all started when officers responded to a noise disturbance here. neighbors told police they heard yelling coming from an apartment packed with people. when officers walked up to the apartments, they say they were confronted by two men ...one holding a sledge hammer, the other had a knife. the officers say minute thumbnail 04:32 pm they shot at them ... and the two men were taken to university of new mexico hospital. as of last night -- one was in stable condition, the other went into surgery in critical condition. police are still trying to find out exactly what happened.
