A Santa Fe girl tells police she was being chased by a man on her way to school. Police found that man – and he admitted he was in pursuit – but not after the girl. Police say the man was only trying to catch up with the school bus after his daughter missed it. Officers were called to Sweeney Elementary School Friday after a ten-year-old girl reported that a man with a nose ring chased her halfway to school. According to the girl, the man got out of his SUV and started to run after her. So she ran away screaming. Police say tips lead them to the man who turns out to be a dad just trying to get his kid to school. “His interest was not in the child screaming. He didn’t notice the child screaming. He was trying to catch the bus for his own child,” said Sgt. Louis Carlos of the Santa Fe Police Department.
