has completely shocked people. tonight -- we have the 9-1 call a father made to confess that he shot and killed his nine month old baby girl. misa maruyama has spent the afternoon listening to the tape. she's here with tonight's top story. in the 9-1 call ... 22-year-old christopher rains minute thumbnail 05:00 pm admits to killing his own daughter during an argument with the baby's mother. take a listen to the chilling call caller: i have to tell you something. operator: what's going on? caller: i just killed my daughter. operator: you what? caller: i just killed my daughter." rains told police he and the baby's mother were having relationship problems -- and he was upset she was talking to another man. he told the 9-1-1 operator he held the gun to the back of the baby's head and shot her point blank. he told the operator -- he couldn't stand to see his ex- girlfriend move on. caller: i just shot my baby; i just shot my baby. operator: why did you shoot the baby. caller: because i didn't want her to move on with another man without me, another man without me, i can't do that. and so i killed my without me, i can't do minute thumbnail 05:01 pm that. and so i killed my daughter, and it's the biggest regret i've ever felt in my whole life. rains told the 9-1-1 operator he wanted to kill himself because he didn't want to go to prison. in the criminal complaint -- rains told police it's not the first time he held a gun to the baby's head and threatened her.
