A very quick trip to Belfast, Ireland; didn't turn out the way we had hoped.
I'll be putting trailers to the films I am working on as they come along.
A very long canal to Amsterdam.
The first music video I shot & edited
I only made two out of the 4 days this year since it was just too exhausting for me, so I didn't get much footage. But I did see Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter), and the Ghost Hunters.
Toward the end of our cruise, we were in the North Sea. I was filming from our balcony as I always did, but rushed inside to get a shot of something out of the bedroom window, when a huge wave swept over the bow & came in thru the balcony door! Lucky for me that I came in or I'd still be mourning the loss of my XLH1!
This is the first trailer to a short film I am currently working on. I'll be putting on an updated version soon.
I did this when I first got my XLH1, before I had any presets or knew how to use any other features. I was also new to Final Cut Pro, but we had fun making it.
The day my son-in-law came home from Iraq
After heading down several miles of canal with the wind picking up, it was so bad by the time we reached the lock, we had to have a tug help us out. The captain said it was the toughest thing he's had to do to this point!
Michael speaks about his not returning to Smallville. C'mon! How can they get rid of Lex Luthor when Clark isn't officially Superman?!
During my brief visit to Edinburgh, I was picked up by relatives who showed me around the family's historic sites, which included the original old stone part of the house that my great-great-great grandparents lived in over 400 years ago.
Aboard Azamara Journey we went to Falmouth Cornwall England. It rained the entire day which cancelled the boat show they had scheduled in town, but we still enjoyed watching the harbor.
While in Edinburgh for the day, I met family who took me to various sites that involved my family. This video shows several clips involving the Covenanters. My 8th Great-Grandfather was Thomas Brownlee, 2nd Laird of Torfoot, who fought in the Battles of Drumclog & Bothwell Bridge, where he was captured, held in an outdoor prison at Greyfriars Churchyard before being put on a ship that wrecked off the Orkney Islands. He was one of app. 50 survivors.
This was in Dublin, Ireland, where we got off the ship to eat at a pub and walk around briefly, catching this street performer.
A very quick trip to Belfast, Ireland; didn't turn out the way we had hoped.
While in Oban, it was raining quite a bit, so we didn't get off the ship. But we did have a very nice view of the port & town. Unfortunately for one of the guests on our ship, she fell off the pier onto the rocks at low tide and was taken away in an ambulance. I believe she met up with the ship a few ports later.
I was up and on the balcony at 5 am looking for the monument to the Covenanters who died when the ship they were on, the Crown of London, sank. My 8th Great-Grandfather was one of the few survivors. I did get it, but didn't realize it until I got home and was editing the footage!
This was such a friendly place. We went for a walk and bought some t-shirts & a "Nessie" and bagpipe-playing teddy bear for the kids. And beautiful scenery coming into and out of the area.
Going thru the lock and passing the city and lighthouse
On the Azamara Journey leaving out of Copenhagen, Denmark on July 31, 2008. (Langelinie pier.) If you ever get to cruise out of this port, make sure you go a day early so you can see the city! It's beautiful, but since I missed my connecting flight in Paris & got there late, my friend, Diane, and I only got to see what was between the airport & the pier on our mad dash to make the ship!
This was before I got the XLH1. It was my first time to DragonCon & it was very interesting. I did go all 4 days, but it took a lot out of me, and I didn't stay all day.
