Psychiatry & Politics: Labeling Political Dissidents Mentally Ill
G. Edward Griffin, political lecturer & author of the critically acclaimed book about the Federal Reserve, "The Creature from Jekyll Island," discusses how psychiatry merges with politics to eliminate political dissent. In China today, political dissidents, whistleblowers and government petitioners are being labeled mentally ill, incarcerated in psychiatric wards and subjected to electroshockâa tactic reminiscent of Soviet Russia. The President of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), psychiatrist Nada Stotland, obviously needs a bit of a lesson on the difference between a disease and a "mental disorder," given her recent comments. Diseases can be confirmed by medical/scientific tests. Mental disorders are simply checklists of behaviors.
