Thread: An Update From Your Veoh Team

Re: An Update From Your Veoh Team

    Dear Veoh Team,
Since your update I have the same problem as some other users. When I start downloading it stopped after a couple of minutes and the download speed is not that fast. What could be the problem. I did not have any problem with the previous Veoh system. Looking forward to your reply to sort out the matter. Thanks in advance.

At the end of last week we made a small change to the Veoh Web Player whereby clicking to download a video now downloads the video directly through your browser instead of into your Veoh Web Player.

We made this change as a first step towards some awesome features that are meant to improve your Veoh user experience in the coming weeks.

This change allows us to beam the content to your computer in higher quality and with better download speeds. It also allows you to use a more powerful video player to playback your favorite downloads - whether it's the Windows Media Player, Quicktime, VLC Player, WinAMP etc...

Moving forward, we'll definitely keep you in the loop and update you about upcoming changes, and rest assured we didn't mean for any confusion to occur due to the recent change.

To give you a bit of time to get used to the new system and to cheer you up, we'd like to provide 48 hours of free unlimited viewing on videos with no need to download starting 10am pacific time Tuesday Jan 3rd, 2012.

Please check in with our forum for more updates.

Thanks, and have a lovely new year!

I have suggested another download button for the web player which should satisfy everyone. We'll see what staff thinks of the suggestion.

I have the latest version of the veoh webplayer installed. OS is Win7 64 Bit.
The download always finishes at 15MB of 350MB and it neither works on Firefox nor Internet Explorer. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like it's a corrupt file for which there's already a stuck thread in the watching videos forum.

Just thought i would share my thoughts on the new system.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to be after a set time that a download automatically fails, making larger files impossible to download. Is it possible that there is an Auto-Timeout lurking somewhere in the system? For example i can get no movies to download as they run out of time, but episodes of shows due to the shorter download time seem to succeed, it seems to be at around 10 minutes that the downloads fail.

Just my observations, when updating systems things like this can sneak thier ways in.

I like how it used to be better . I used to beable to click download and it would down load right to the web player . Now its so much of a hassel i have downloaded the web player ten times already in the past two days and when i click the download video button it tells me to download the web player AGAIN even though it is already downloaded to my laptop . I tried downloading it through the web browser but as soon as it downloaded i clicked out of it cause i was already watching some thing else and now i cant find it on my computer . so can you please make it so we can download through the web player again . If it keeps being to much of a hassel then no one will want to use veoh any more
