That doesn't sound easier to me but what ever floats your boat. You wouldn't have to return to the page at all if you record it the first time.

Yeah, I am able to download everything at the same speed (~200Kb/s). I haven't tried downloading like, huge movies, but they've been episodes of shows that I watch. I know that it was below that when this update first came out though. But everything downloads the same, even if it's 2-3 downloads at the same time. I haven't been here for that long (I started using Veoh mid December but created this account when all the problems happened to see what's going on), but those are just my experiences so far.
As for your download issue, that's kind of one downfall for Firefox. I never really liked Firefox anyways, seeing how IE is just more simple to me. They both run the same and I have no issues with IE whatsoever. Maybe it's because I'm a little computer savvy. But anyways, here's what I do for IE. When you click to download the video, a small bar at the bottom pops up, asking whether you want to open the file, save it, or cancel. On the save button though, there's an arrow. Click on that and click "Save as". From there, you can select WHERE you want to save it (your Desktop or some other folder you created) as well as renaming it. I am using IE9
man this is irritating. i very much liked how i could click a button, Veoh Player would start downloading it quietly in the background, then i could go and watch it again whenever i feel like it. i tried saving some of the files to my computer and after getting to 99% it said it couldn't be saved.
please include a feature where people can still download to Veoh player directly if they desire! because for some people, this is three steps back instead of a step forward. this is not at all convienent for me.
I agree to this. I loved how Veoh Web Player worked as well. I mean, I noticed that they said something about choosing where you save your files and choose what player will play it, but you could already do that with VWP!!! It doesn't take a computer technician to find out how, for God's sakes. So yes, PLEASE let the people choose how we want to do this. I don't know how, but do it. My downloads are fine, but I would much rather use VWP to download Veoh videos.
I too agree. I liked it much better before. It was so user friendly before.
My issues are that it says, "download completed," but then when I try to open it it tells me that, "Windows cannot play file" or something similar. Also, although it says the download was completed, I cannot locate it anywhere. I used to adore this site and used it frequently. I know it's not a problem with a particular video's URL because I cannot download anything. This really bums me out because I used this site all the time. PLEASE HELP me Veoh!!
I am using IE9 by the way. And even with the "save as" option I cannot get it to work.
PLEASE HELP.![]()

Well when you do the "save as" option, you should be able to save it to wherever you want, like the desktop. So you should be able to locate it there. If not, then that's just weird. I usually save mine under C:\Users\Videos\Veoh... something like that. It's always there where I save it though.
Try opening it with a different player though. VLC Player should work just fine. It plays every type of file and is free. Just look it up on Google.
It is funny how it isn't as user friendly anymore though... It's even funnier when their objective was to make this more user friendly... I'm a little computer savvy, so I kinda know how to do things, but for those that aren't... this way is just more complicated.
Right click the file and select "Open With" then select the player you want to use from the drop down menu. Or you can open the player you want to use and click File > Open > then select the file. If you want to use the veoh web player then open it, click library > add content then select the file you want to import. After importing the file click the green arrow next to the video thumb to play.
There's already a thread on that issue HEREAlso, although it says the download was completed, I cannot locate it anywhere.(

OK my main issue with this new downloading through the browser is that all the videos that i have downloaded this way do not have titles, the names are letter and number combinations. The webplayer downloading had the title of the
video
See replies 8, 9 and 10. Yes I agree it's a pain.
I have just returned to Veoh & may rapidly get rid of it again if I can't figure out how to get downloaded videos to play.... I also find the lengthy alphanumeric file names cumbersome. ... I am not computer savy but I am sure that I had less trouble using Veoh a couple of years ago.
Can anyone tell me how to get it working for playback?
