Xmas time can make it really easy to feel overwhelmed with obligation. But getting in touch with what "gifting" actually is can make a profound impact on your holidays and life!

Changing the way you look at commerce can change your attitude as well as your bank balance.
a music video set to footage shot last week. Life is beautiful.
Took the fur bikes out for a glorious ride on a very low tide. Saw Octopi and beauty galore.
I get asked this a lot. During HugNation this week, I shared my standard response.
During HugNation yesterday, I read the brilliant creation story for kids from Alan Watts' "The Book Against The Taboo of Knowing who You Are."
Heather Gold is a good friend, a talented artist, and a wonderful person. She also happens to be gay and married...and the world is better because of the love she shares. Her video at TheGreatHack.com inspired me to express publicly my STRONG feelings about CA's prop 8.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is the cutest monster video in the universe. (Starring my nephew - 2.5 years)
A brief clip from a 2005 HugNation where Grandpa shares some joy and some sadness.

The 3rd part of Halcyon's 2008 Burning Man Trilogy. Song by Crystal Method "Glass Breaker"
I talk about a new HugNation format...where we start every show by saying 'Grace.'
During HugNation, I often talk about how the "ME" we identify with is actually just the surface crust of who we are. I have a vision of a metal fram of a human form, outlined with wood. The wood would have words and images that "identify" people. Skin color, religion, sports team affiliation, etc. People could add to the wood with markers. At the end of the week, the wood crust would be burned off. All that would remain is outline of the pure, perfect loving one-ness that makes up EVERY one of us.
When I got back from Burning Man, tons of people said, 'I heard you guys had a doozy of a dust storm.' As if Burning Man was ruined. HUH!? After 11 burns, I LOVE dust storms. They are esssential for people to reach the level of surrender necessary for people to evolve. You cannot transform while you hold on to your old patterns. Saying that "Dust Disturbs Burning Man" (as the NY Times Headline said) is like saying "Frosting Disturbs Cupcakes." This is a music video homage to the spirit of my camp mates at Bat Country. As well as the root spiritual perspective that governs my life.

Burning Man 2008 - Halcyon's Pink Ride & HugNation
The 2nd Annual Pink Bike Ride and Center Camp HugNation blitz was MAGICAL! Thank you so much for all who added their wonderful love energy to the mix. It was a highlight of the week. ((HUG))!
I love how much Burning Man energy is already swirling around in my life. After finishing all 8 of the octobike's tentacles (only 4 shown here), Mom & I celebrated with an impromptu skit....and an Octopus Hug!!! I love her so much. :)
