In the presence of members and clergy of the Diocese of Paterson, Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli ordained his “three sons” into the priesthood on Saturday, 28 May 2005. Celebrated on the day before the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, this is the first time the Bishop has ordained candidates to the priesthood in the Diocese of Paterson.This show focuses on the Rite of Ordination – the Litany of Saints, the Imposition of Hands, the Kiss of Peace.
Continuing our coverage of diocesan events throughout the area, the CCMCommunications Remote Television Operations Center and Crew made a trip to the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Paterson, NJ to cover the 11th annual Cathedral Concert Series. This years event featured Patricia Dean, Eleanor Antonelli, Carol Dziuba, Richard Hilton, Robert Long and the Ars Musica Chorale , Dr. Michele Yampolsky and the Villa Walsh Academy Ensemble along with special guest artists.

A very beautiful event which parallels the Ordination of Priests, Deacons, and Bishops, the moving ceremony is to religious life what marriage is to laypeople.
OK, so Christmas is over – but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy the sounds of the season. With so much material to work with, we had enough music from the Cathedral Concert Series to cut a second show – an Encore. Watch the second show in the series and enjoy Christmas at the Cathedral.
The second show focusing on the Liturgy of the Word includes all readings, the responsorial psalm, and the homily delivered by the Bishop. In his homily, the Bishop tackles such issues as the Church's crisis in vocations, and the importance of a life long commitment to Christ. Both shows include portions of interviews with Bishop Serratelli, Sr. Ascenza Tizzano (Filippini Provincial Superior), Sister Lillian Earnest (Formation Director), and Sister Laura herself.
The Chrism Mass, held in the Diocese's Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Paterson NJ, is celebrated by Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli on the morning of Holy Thursday. In this mass, the Bishop blesses and consecrates the three oils - the Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens, and the Sacred Chrism - for distribution to parishes throughout the Church of Paterson. Also celebrating the institution of the Eucharist and of the Priesthood, the Diocesan Presbyteriate meets to renew their priestly promises.
