This is a video of Rinken Band from Okinawa. This performance was on September 1st 2007 in Honolulu Hawaii. This band sings Okinawan songs and is extremely popular with Okinawan music fans.

In 2007 we visited the Hawaiian Plantation Villiage in Waipahu Hawaii. The village is a historical collection of stuff from the immigrant workers who came to Hawaii to work the sugar cane and pineapple plantations in the early 1900's. This video is of our guide who explained where the Okinawan people originated. Please comment if you have an opinion on what he says.
In 2006 Nozomi and I spent an entire week in mainland Japan. This video is of the day we spent in Tokyo before heading out to Yokohama. The temple in this video is ASakusa a famous Temple in the north east part of Tokyo. There are also some shots of Tsukiji Fish market area where we went to have sushi for breakfast that morning. Mmm! Mmm!
In 2006 Nozomi and I visited Japan for a week before going on to the Uchinanchu World Festival in Okinawa Japan. This is a slide show of our trip to see the second largest Buddha statue in Japan. It was located in Kamakura Japan.
On our way around Japan we stayed in Hakone at a 400 year old Ryokan (Japanese Inn). It featured natural Hot Spring baths that were fed by hot water heated by a volcano beneath the mountian.
This is a short video of a traditional Japanese puppet play. Note the guys in the black suits helping to control the puppet. We saw this show in 2006 when we visited Kyoto Japan.
This is video of our 2006 trip to Yonagawa Japan. Yonagawa is known as the Venice of the Orient and you can get all around town on Japanese Gondolas.
In 2006 Nozomi & I participated in the 4th World Uchinanchu Festival. Nozomi is from Itoman and the city invited all visiting Uchinanchu to participate in a tour of the area as well as a wonderful party on the beach in Itoman. They gave us many wonderful things from the area. We thank them all very much if they see this!!
Kume Island was one of the places we visited in 2006. It is one of the islands of the Ryukyu Archepelaco. It takes 20 minutes by small plane to get there from Okinawa's Naha airport. We went with my wife's sisters and her mom. It was a really beautiful place.
