she's been discovering her mouth a lot. everything she grabs goes in her mouth now, and she likes to stick out her tongue and go "thbtbbt"
she's so much fun
she wasn't born with this ability, so it's a big step now that she figured out how to do it. i've found her soothing herself back to sleep all on her own by sucking her thumb! yay
after buying her a mirror with toys attached to it, we noticed that she really gained a lot of awareness just by learning how to interact with it. so we kept buying her new toys and watching her evolve. this is a progression during her 4th month of extra-utero life as she learns how to play with different objects. quite fascinating.
yay!!!
hehe.
she finally has a recognition of toys and loves this thing we got her - it's a mirror with 4 different toys attached at each corner. she's totally fascinated with it
she's a regular conversationalist now. we talk back and forth all the time, and it makes her really happy.
she is sleeping better, and is therefore much happier. you can hear the intonation in her voice resemble more of a communication, not just a cry. of course, she does start to whine towards the end, but i just smile and feel blessed to have heard her giggle.
sorry about the quality, seems it was too dark for the camera... but this is what i call "first words". i don't understand all this crap about "her first word was mama!" if it's english, then it's considered speaking? she's working on different consonants and vowels - so far i've heard C, L, M, N and probably all different open sounds. so cool.
bathtime with mommy... there's nothing more blissful
the moment you've all been waiting for... the true essence of our parenting
ahhh i had to put up just one of these... she does have crying spells that can last 6 hours, and they're not fun for anyone :( for those that haven't been around infants, not much can calm them down when they're fussy. sometimes they just want to cry.
she flexes her legs really well now
a good example of how she's very moody during breastfeeding... one moment it makes her smile, then something starts to frustrate her :(
a good variety of Gaia's facial expressions
i know that she's probably reciting einstein's theory of relativity - we just can't understand her language yet
