Dale and his spouse decided to become foster parents after being together for fifteen years. They chose to mentor and open their home to a gay male teenager between the ages of twelve and fifteen. He explains why they came to that decision & some details about the ten week process used by The Salvation Army to match homeless kids with foster parents. A newly formed group of Russian-Americans joined NYC's annual Gay Pride Parade, June 24,2007. Their counterparts in Russia have faced physical attacks from skinheads, ostracism and opposition from the Russian Orthodox Church & non-recognition of their right to assemble by Russian Governmental officials. Hopefully, this small group of free LGBT Americans will keep hope for progress alive in Russia.
Gay street fairs are public events. In urban areas, like the Borough of Queens in NYC, you find a mixture of cultures and many immigrant communities. I decided to try interviewing people, especially people who looked like they just might have 'wandered' in, what it was like going to a gay street fair for the first time. This is the first of two or three vlogs focusing on this subject.

AMNESTY INVITES SUPPORTERS TO MARCH IN NYC GAY PRIDE 6/25
An Amnesty intern talked about Amnesty's many projects and how that organization always received a warm reception at gay pride street fairs. As an Amnesty member, I signed petitions at the Queens Pride event. Today I received the following email. If you are liberal, gay or just like being in a parade instead of watching it, please sign up and show up. "Subject: Pride Parade with Amnesty Dear all, I'm writing you because you are currently on my list of people that expressed interest in marching, alongside with the OUTfront program at Amnesty International, in the Manhattan Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25th. We are extremely excited with the amount of interest in the march we have received so far! We also hoped that you could further help us promote the march by encouraging your family, friends, partners, etc. to join us. Also, with enough interest, we are planning on organizing a small social event prior to the march, or a "march pre-game," where we can all enjoy Amnesty-provided pizza and Pepsi, work on our signs together and socialize. We hope to be sending you more details during the next couple of weeks regarding both the "march pre-game" and the march itself. To assist us in doing this it would be great if you could email us with whether or not you still plan on attending the march, if you are interested in attending the pre-party, and how many people you hope to bring with you. Barbara Gittings was a "spiritual" rather than a religious person who thought all gay people should strive for 'Heaven on Earth: Here and Now!" Still, kids are bullied & sometimes killed for simply being gay. Lesbian mothers & gay fathers have their children taken away from them. Rev. Perry married his male lover in Canada and is challenging California's refusal to recognize gay marriage. Testimonies were being gathered about the first 25 yeaars of the AIDS epidemic by videographers at NYC's gay street fair. After being inbterviewed, I turned the camera on the interviewer and asked him a few questions.
