Nana Osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band as soon as possible to leave her ex-boyfriend, Ren Honjo, behind. Nana Komatsu, the other Nana, has a habit of falling in love at first sight, when her friends and then boyfriend leave for Tokyo, she decides to join them a year later after having saved enough money. Both Nanas meet in a train by chance, both of them moving to Tokyo, and by coincidence they meet again and became roomates.

    The thing about this anime that keeps me amazed is how real it can be. I mean when a girl feels lonely it's pretty easy for her to find some "comfort". But for a guy it's so much harder and he just has to bear with it.
