Strange new worlds,aliens, outer space adventures and screams are all part of the classic Science Fiction and Horror movies from the 1930s to the 1960s.
One of several remaining members of its race, an alien from Venus is guided to Earth by disgruntled scientist Tom Anderson, who tells it which humans it should attach mind control devices to. Among them is his old friend, fellow scientist Paul Nelson. Nelson, after killing a flying bat-thing which carries the device, finally persuades the paranoid Anderson that he's been wrong to ally himself with an alien bent on world domination. They hurriedly leave when they discover Tom's wife has picked up a rifle and gone to the alien's cave to try to kill it.
Philosophy professor Kerry West is surprised and upset when his new television set begins talking to him. The TV is actually a "Twonky", a device accidentally sent from the future. The Twonky's purpose is to make its users' life easier, and it sets about "helping" the professor by censoring his books, reading people's minds, and controlling his life. West struggles to find a way to stop the Twonky.
The U.S. government is conducting experiments on the effects of exposure to space radiation by sending animals briefly into orbit. Following a malfunction, one of the rockets stays in space longer than planned, and is lost from the scientists' radar screens. Theorizing that it may be the irradiated test wasp wreaking havoc in the jungle, he organizes an expedition to investigate.
When a man doesn't come home one night his daughter and her boyfriend go out searching and encounter a giant spider in a cave near the man's wrecked car. When the first manned flight to Venus returns to Earth, the rocket crash-lands in the Mediterranean near a small Italian fishing village. The locals manage to save one of the astronauts Colonel Calder, the mission commander. A young boy also recovers what turns out to be a specimen of an alien creature. Growing at a fantastic rate, it manages to escape and eventually threatens the city of Rome forcing the military to take drastic action.
