I'm a student currently studying for a bachelor's degree in environmental science. Of course, my interests are below. I don't have a website (don't know how to make one or get an address for one), but I'm fine with that. The reason I'm interested in cycads is actually an outgrowth of two things I loved when I was a kid; dinosaurs and growing plants (all the plants died-without exception). Cycads were the one of the dominant groups of plants during much of the Mesozoic era, so naturally i was overjoyed to discover that they still existed today. So when i found seeds available for some cycads, i decided to try my hand at growing them. Well, alot of the seeds died, but I'm currently growing a second batch (6 out of around 18 survived from the first batch). Hopefully I'll have more success. For those who don't know, cycads look like palms, buts are usually much more squat and if you look closely, you can see that the trunk has a different look as well. They also don't fruit like palms, but produce cones instead.
