  • Outspoken atheist Nick Gisburne has written a book for atheists everywhere, at times openly parodying Christianity, but always keeping both eyes firmly on the central, serious theme: give no respect to a belief system based on ancient myths, for which there is no proof. This book hacks at the shiny veneer of 'God is love' and reveals a mythical being with Mafia-like qualities, and the true message of the Christian religion: 'serve God or burn'. Part of the rising phenomenon known as the YouTube Atheists, popular video blogger Nick Gisburne was controversially banned from the site in 2007, but returns with a feast of short, sharp arguments to rattle the foundations of Christianity. This book is a literary middle finger for atheists to raise up high in heated debates with the faithful. Look out, The Atheists Are Revolting!

I served in the Persian Gulf, was a CrewChief on Marine One (Presidential Helicopter) and had a few additional tours overseas. I have lost friends I served with while I was on active duty. This movie is for them, all those who served before me, those currently serving and for those yet to serve.

  • www.1938movie.com Finally '1938' is available for public viewing! '1938' is about a young German soldier named Albert Werner stationed in Austria just before the war. Like any young soldier, Albert wants to do the right thing and serve his country well - but he soon learns that the only enemy he will be fighting are his morals, as he gets caught up in a whole world of revenge, prejudice and bitter hatred. BACKGROUND: 1938 marked the year that Hitler made his first military move as leader of Nazi Germany. Tensions in Austria were mounting as the people decided whether or not to join forces with their old ally. The Austrian Chancellor attempted to hold a vote in March to decide the fate of Austria, but the Austrian Nazi party formed a takeover before it could begin, leading the way for German troops to march across the border and claim Austria for the Führer. Hitler was declared leader overnight, without a single shot ever being fired. When questions were asked about the legality of the takeover, the Nazis held another vote where they were awarded 99.73% in favour, to prove their right to command Austria. The Germans had moved the first piece in the chess-game of the Second World War.| INFO: '1938' was filmed in 2009, directed by George Eastmead. The film was shot on location in AUSTRIA and ENGLAND. Albert Werner - Alex Bland Peter - Peter Barfield Johan - Eddie Rex The Austrian - John Horgan Music in the film is under the Creative Commons licence and is attributed to Jason Shaw. • James 1:1 - Could you imagine being Jesus' brother? How'd you like to live in that shadow? In our introduction to the book of James, we learn a little about it's author and what was going on when it was written. Rather than being a deep, doctrinal book, James serves as a primer for living life. In essence, James says: "Don't put off your life of faith until times get better. Right now, in the midst of your suffering, is the very time to be putting your servanthood toward Christ into practice." From just the first verse, we could see James message saying, "Your trial is not the time to rejoice less. Your sickness is not the time to pray less. Your loss is not the time to love others less. Rather, now is the very time to practice the joy, peace and love that we know theoretically to be the Christian life." Listen in as Pastor Ed introduces a book so controversial that it almost didn't make it into the Bible.

  • families of dozens of disabled new mexicans are caught in the middle of a lawsuit-- and funds they depend on are frozen. that means no check this month-- which for most of these families is their sole source of income. antoinette antonio is here to explain. antoinette? these family members have given up their careers.. so they can be full-time caregivers to their loved ones. but 85 families say they didn't get paid this month -- after the state filed a lawsuit against an agency minute thumbnail 06:05 pm that's supposed to be helping the families out. lu rivera has a master's degree she doesn't use -- because she dedicates her life to being her daughter's caregiver. "it's a tough job, we can say that this is 24/7 work. we don't rest. our pay comes to a little under 3 dollars an hour." rivera's 29-year old daughter, tonia, has cerebral palsy. and since rivera takes care of tonia - she gets a paycheck from the state. the paycheck comes through an agency called "cuidando las familias" -- which rvera says takes almost a 30- percent cut -- for helping caregiver's like her do her job. "paperwork, fingerprinting families, getting us trained, having a service coordinator for us so that we can do our job." but this month-- rivera's check didn't come. nats and there's no sign of "cuidando"-- which operated out this rio rancho home that's now up for minute thumbnail 06:06 pm sale. it could all be because the state filed a lawsuit against the agency -- alleging medicaid fraud in the amount of three-point-six million dollars. as part of the process -- the state put a freeze on funding. that means no money this month for 85 families "cuidando las familias" serves. "that's our paycheck, the way you get paid to do your work to pay your bills, that was our paycheck. we need our money to be able to pay mortgages, rents, utilities, groceries." while attorney general gary king's office wouldn't comment on the lawsuit-- those who were served by "cuidando" say they just want answers -- and to be able to pay their bills. • It's can happen to any of us...and it's scary... Recent hunger statistics show one in twelve North Dakotans will seek food assistance at one time or another. So for so many Not knowing where your next meal will come from is reality. Brad Feldman shows you some agencies dealing with the increasing number of people going hungry in the state. One bowl and a sandwich. It's the meal of the day at the Soup Cafe. For some people, this is the only for sure meal they will have of the day. (Mark Meier/ Soup Cafe) "The average person probably doesn't really realize it because we live in our own little worlds." Meier sees it each month...at the Soup Cafe where he serves a free hot meal to anyone who needs one. Open six days a week...he has seen it all... Meier says in the early part of the month about sixty people grab a bowl...by the end of the month its close to one hundred people who come in looking for something to eat. (Mark Meier/ Soup Cafe) "We see displaced families that show up for a week and then they get settled in and then we dont see them again. (Sound- cans) The overwhelming call for help is being heard at local food pantrys. (Karen Edwards/ Community Action) "So many people depend on having that basic meal that you and I have in the evening." Edwards says the number of people they serve has more than doubled...from about seventy families served in October of 2008 to just over one hundred eighty families this past October. (Karen Edwards/ Community Action) "We need anything and everything. Perishables, non perishables and dairy items." With more people needing help...what you see on these shelves now, will be gone by the end of the day. Edwards says stimulus money has been provided to Community Action to buy what is not donated. This means a grocery bill each month of about twenty-thousand dollars. But for those families with an empty plate...the little they get here can go a long way. (Karen Edwards/ Community Action) "Any of us can be in that situation at any given time and its a very scary thought." Brad Fe

  • The flu is off to an roaring start in North Dakota. The Health Department reports more than 560 cases of the flu already this season - compared with only five at this time last year. More than 100 of this year's flu cases are H1N1 - known as Swine Flu. As the H1N1 virus spreads throughout the state and country and across the globe, people are being told to stay home when they are sick in an effort to not spread the virus. But there are some situations when staying home can be costly for your pocketbook. The CDC recommends and fellow fliers probably appreciate that if you are sick with H1N1 you do not fly. But are airlines willing to refund the ticket if you can not fly because you are under the weather? Rhonda DeMakis runs International Travel in Minot. She says airlines like Delta which serves the Magic City may be willing to work with you if illness keeps you from flying the friendly skies... (Rhonda DeMakis - International Travel) "If you are quite sick, and you can get a letter from the doctor...there is no guarantee. Those things are handled on a one to one basis. So it is submit the letter stating you were ill if you did have the virus. You have to just jump through the hoops and there is not a guarantee." DeMakis says in order to have any chance at working with the airlines to be reimbursed you must call and cancel your flight if you are sick...simply not showing up for the flight will only lead to problems trying to get a refund down the road.
