Classic 1957 Peter Sellers British Comedy Film English Humor
The Smallest Show on Earth is a hilarious British comedy about a family that can’t seem to have any luck. A married couple inherits a small movie theater in a tiny whistle stop town. Hoping to sell it for a tidy sum, the couple is disappointed to find the theater in disrepair. Not only that, they’ve also inherited the feeble, goofy staff that practically lives there! This is where the film really picks up, as the chief employee is played by none other than Peter Sellers. Amusing misfortunate continues, and everyone at the little theater must pull together to somehow save it. The Smallest Show on Earth is a delightful little comedy that entertains scene after scene.

Beat The Devil (1953) Starring Peter Lorre & Humphrey Bogart
This lesser known Humphrey Bogart film was directed by John Huston, who also directed Bogart in both The African Queen and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. In Beat the Devil, Bogart is part of a group of criminal opportunists who travel to Africa to exploit the uranium that has recently been discovered there. On the way, they travel on a steamer with other people who may or may not be traveling for the same reason, including a British married couple. Despite much infighting and betrayal by the members of the gang, they end up in Africa, only to be put in front of an Arab firing squad. Other notables in the cast include Peter Lorre, Jennifer Jones, and Gina Lollabrigida.

Commentary with Joel: One Million Web Views for a Block of Cheese
Joel interviews one chunk of cheddar cheese as to why it's "aging" British brother, a huge chunk of raw cheddar, has garnered over one million web views and we only get a couple hundred web views per day.
Look around you "I happened upon this inspired bit of British comedy after watching Goodness Gracious Me (hit and miss). I was curious why there would be a ten minute show on TV. At first, I actually thought it was a children's instructional science program. Indeed, it is easy to to be fooled. The tone, pacing, narration, are all uncannily like those insipid PBS programs I'd watch when home sick from school or when the teacher wanted a hour off during class. So now I know all about iron... I now count my iron flakes every day and make lists of clusters in my iron log book. Thank you. Of course, the programmers at BBC America are a capricious lot. Their scheduling has all the consistency of runny tapioca pudding. One week it's on, another week, not to be found. If I would watch this silly, insane show, even it it meant I had to watch the last five minutes of crap like My Family or Coupling. OR, at least release a DVD coded for the US audiences! I'd buy it!"
