  • Or Brand New Doctor or Hand New Day, however you want to see it. Hand!Doctor (from Journey's End) sees what must be done about the Dalek menace. Crazy how an instantaneous biological metacrisis can clear things up like that. Spoilers for 4x13 - Journey's End. Song is Brand New Day from Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog, by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Zack Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen. Doctor Who belongs to the BBC.

  • READD BEFOREE WATCHINGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay. Superlongstoryvideo yay :) And my first Human Doctor/Rose. So that's commendable as well, I suppose. Before I go on and on about the story, I'd like to really quickly thank my friend (who shall be known as Vermin), for reading and replying to all of my mad texts at 2.00 in the morning as I tried to piece together a plot for this, and then had to deal with my manic excitment when I finally hit one that worked. Alright. So. Here's how the story goes down: The video catalogues the lives of the Human Doctor and Rose in their parallel universe. Eventually, they have twin children, a boy called Sydney (Alex Pettyfer) and a girl called Verity (Emma Watson) [yes, I borrowed the names of the original Doctor Who producers]. BUT. Their happiness is cut short one day when Rose gets a call from a doctor's office, informing her of her rapidly declining health (what has to be assumed is that several years have passed, as the children are teenagers at this point). And I won't spoil anything beyond that ;) This has always been a sort of vague idea in my head, ever since learning Rose would be returning and thinking of how interesting it could be to encorperate the scenes from the hospital in "Much Ado About Nothing". And then with the end of "Journey's End"...well, I had several ideas like the ending of this video floating around my mind for too long to continue ignoring. AUDIO TRANSCRIPT for your own entertainment: Doctor: "The one adventure I can never have." -- Doctor2: "I've only got one life. I could spend it with you, if you want." Rose: "You'll grow old at the same time as me?" Doctor2: "Together." -- Dr. Tom Milligan: "It's not good, I'm afraid." -- Rose: "Hi." Doctor2: "You okay? Rose?" Rose: "Will you come 'round?" -- Doctor2: "Be strong now." Verity: *choking/crying sound* Doctor2: "You need to hold on, d'you hear me? We've got things to do, you and me, eh? Eh? You've got to, come on. It can't end like this. All the things we've done, you and me." Hope you enjoy

  • Science@ESA: Space, Research And Never Ending Questions. With 2009 being the year of astronomy it is important to underline that Space activities and scientific research in general need curious people who are not afraid to keep asking difficult, awkward questions even if they appear crazy. Space scientists increasingly spend time, and have much fun, explaining in simple terms the nature of their research, often difficult to understand. This video provides a lively example of this in an interview with astrophysicist Dr. Anja Andersen. She evokes her natural curiosity, in her field own of research and in everyday life, and gives examples of the some times startling questions that space scientists and engineers have to ask themselves. --- • http://www.youtube.com/Best0fScience • http://www.youtube.com/FFreeThinker --- When men strive to push back the frontiers of knowledge, science and dreams often come together in an extraordinary journey of imagination. The Universe we know and our immediate environment are in constant flux. Each new answer on their mechanism entails a flurry of new questions. Scientists are never content. Dr. Anja Andersen is a Danish astrophysicist working in Heidelberg, Germany. She exemplifies the scientist who juggles with seemingly impossible questions much like a child plays with a toy. And an interview with her can feel like an encounter of the third kind. Over the years, the European Space Agency has proved that space visions can be turned into reality, and justify investments that may seem expensive. Harnessing international efforts, like ESA does, to understand the Universe is no easy task. The men and women who work on the front line can take many risks. But space research and exploration also have another, less immediately visible benefit. Far removed from the old idea of a scientist in his ivory tower, throughout her conversation Anja Andersen inspires by intertwining the more difficult theories of her field of research with practical issues of everyday life and reflection about man
