The Human Animal which accompanies a major six-part series, shows that, however much we may think we have evolved from our animal ancestors, our instincts and behaviour are still rooted in our animal past. By denying this inheritance we are in danger of destroying everything we have strived so hard to create The Hunting Ape This episode looks at our most fundamental activity - finding food, examining how humans exploit even the most inhospitable environments, and analysing how our origins as hunter-gatherers manifest themselves in the fast-food culture of the modern world.
"The waterways are called Narooma, Aboriginal for clear water & they're not kidding. We learn how to throw a traditional spear; precise hunting of mullet & bream and gather lobster, abalone & other succulent shellfish. Cooking is no mucking around, boiling and barbying with a few secrets chucked in. It'ÂÂs a seafood-and-eat-it paradise but with the local law playing a tough role."
a new historical documentary series probing the secrets of Ancient Egypt. In the first episode, scientists attempt to unravel the mystery of a 3,000-yearold âscreamingâ mummy. The man was recovered from a tomb devoid of the usual trappings of Egyptian burial, with his features locked in a screaming expression. Who was this man and what does his fate reveal about the ancient Egyptian attitude to the afterlife? 8/8 - Alexander's Tomb The historical documentary series concludes. This instalment looks at the ongoing hunt for the tomb of Alexander the Great â conqueror and self- proclaimed pharaoh of Egypt. Gathering together old sources and new evidence, the search moves from the necropolis of ancient Egypt to the city that the king founded, Alexandria. For centuries archaeologists have scoured Egypt for the missing tomb of Alexander the Great. The story begins in 332 BC, when the Macedonian general arrived in Egypt and expelled the occupying Persians. He was hailed as a liberator by the Egyptians and promptly set about claiming the throne for himself.

Stop Motion & Claymation Dinosaurs Film: The Lost World 1925
Based on a Sir Arthur Doyle novel (the author of Sherlock Holmes), The Lost World was the first big special effects film in cinematic history. Utilizing stop-motion capture to animate clay model dinosaurs, the monstrous prehistoric creatures come to life as had never been previously accomplished. Though silent, The Lost World is also a rich dramatic narrative: Professor Challenger (Wallace Beery) theorizes that dinosaurs are still alive in a remote region of South America. Joined by friends, including the stunning Bessie Love who plays Paula White, Challenger sets off on an expedition to prove his theories correct. Once the lost location is found, the transcendent creature effects take center stage and the explorers watch the beasts hunt, gather, and fight. They decide to bring back a brontosaurus to make them all rich. This would work marvelously, if the monster didn’t escape into London! The ensuing chaos is as enthralling and unforgettable as the rest of The Lost World.
Short solo piano version of Earth, Wind, & Fire's "Reasons," performed by Todd Allen Gates, author of "Dialogue with a Christian Proselytizer" and "Hunting, Gathering, & Videogames." Four reasons why the Bible is not the greatest story ever told
Aspects of great literature that are missing in the Bible: (1) No compelling reason for the main protagonist (God) to experience conflict (2) God has no worthy antagonist (3) Satan is a two-dimensional bad guy (4) The Bible's characters do not operate at maximum capacity: they fail to solve their problems as cleverly and efficiently as they can * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * My four YouTube channels: - http://youtube.com/user/ToddGates - my musician channel - http://youtube.com/user/ToddAllenGates - where I discuss the ideas in "Dialogue with a Christian Proselytizer" - http://youtube.com/user/ToddAllenGates2 - where I discuss the ideas in my book "Hunting, Gathering, & Videogames" (such as "Why do we have to work?" and "Why do we have to use money?" and "How should we define 'success'?") - http://youtube.com/user/BlasphemyPiano - where I play the background piano accompaniment for songs in Nick Gisburne's book of lyrics "Blasphemy! 2 of 3: Why the Bible is a better read from the secular perspective than the religious
One of the ironies of the bible: that when read from the religious perspective, much of it is nonsensical; but when read from the secular perspective (which frees us from having to interpret every single story through a lens in which God is supposed to have infinite knowledge and infinite power and infinite goodness), we can find great literature. "Chaw is the name for a man-eating wild boar with a body length of 2m and approximate weight of 410kg. Sameri is a quiet village on the foot of Mt. Jiri in South Korea where no incidents have occurred in 10 years. One day a mangled human wrist is found and the village of Sameri is placed in fear and severe anxiety. Shortly later another body part is found and then footprints are discovered with bloodstains. Former hunter Il-man Cheon (Hang-Seon Jang) lost his granddaughter and he now suspects her disappearance is tied to the man eating boar. Il-man then gathers some residents to find the boar including Sun-kyeong Kim (Tae-woong Eom), professional animal hunter Baek (Je-mun Yun), and Hyeong-sa Shin (Hyeok-kwon Park). Animal ecosystem researcher Su-ryeon (Yu-mi Jeong) is also enlisted in their hunt." [AsianMediaWiki]

The Trouble Is Your Religion (sung to the tune of "Tomorrow," from Annie)--women's key Lyrics by Nick Gisburne, from his book "Blasphemy! Anthems for Atheists" (available on Lulu.com). The trouble is your religion Shows me its derision 'cause religion I have none The trouble is your religion Pouring scorn on others Brings division By the ton When you criticize gays You say You only Want the Bible to win It's sin God says Oh The trouble is your religion Never sees it's wrong to Put religion On display Religion Religion Don't want your religion Just take it the hell away All it seems that you say Is pray But only If I want to join in My skin Gets saved Oh The trouble is your religion Takes away the honesty And vision From my day Religion Religion Don't preach your religion There's nothing could make me pray Religion Religion I have no religion I want it to stay that way For more information on "Blasphemy!
