The Sabbat Schoool Class Lesson 3: Priesthood Is A State Of Being!
There are many ways of describing priesthood, but in actual fact it it not a job, a title, a vocation or an avocation. Rather, it is a state of being. For those who have a strong call, priesthood is almost unavoidable.

The Sabbat School Class, Lesson 2 - The Basic of Basics
Before anything else, there is one basic step which some forget. Or is it that they never knew it existed? Regardless, it can stand in the way of something you need, or it can keep closed a door which you would have wanted to have open if you knew. All summed up in one teaching which can open the way to all other teachings.

Mass For The Shut-Out, November 27, 2009 - Betwixt Samhain and Yule
Here we are betwixt Samhain and Yule, and there is a powerful lesson we can put to use. This gives you yet another introduction to some material that your Sunday School teacher never knew about - and which can give you some real power!

The Sabbat School Class, Lesson 4 - Looking forward to Samhain 2009
Samhain is coming, and this is one to look forward to! Well, so are all of the Sabbats, and I feel especially that way about Samhain. And, so, let's explore how to make this Samhain special for you, on a personal basis. And also, some things to watch out for.
An often-asked question is "what can I do?" This is especially true where spiritual matters are concerned. And so, here are some ideas of what you can do to get your spiritual life moving! Think of this as a Yule gift - and one that will indeed keep on giving if you pursue it! Blessed Be!
And here is a Yule celebration for everyone! While some folks might celebrate other specific holidays of their traditions at this time of year, all of them center on the basic fact of a divine birth, whether it is of a divine child (the usual with Jesus, Mithras, etc) or some other re-birth, such as the re-opening of the Jerusalem temple celebrated by Hannukah. Enjoy!
The celebration of Imbolc has lessons for everyone, regardless of their spiritual path. Winter is well underway, and the joy of Yuletide is in the past. But here comes another reminder that the promise made at Samhain is being kept. In fact, Imbolc shows as much of a fulfillment as the divine birth at Yule which is celebrated by so many - and not just Christians. This is not the generic "wait" which can give us cause to doubt. This is fulfillment along the way to the full fulfillment we will celebrate between Ostara and Beltaine.

The Sabbat School Class, Lesson 5: Things To Do With Bread And Wine
You've probably wondered what I was doing and what ritual I have been using in Mass For The Shut Out. Here, I explain that and some of the modifications I make so that I can include you, who might be anywhere at anytime. Also, I go into the roots of how bread and wine got brought into a religious ritual. There will be more on this, but this is the beginning of a long road of seeing the many ways beyond either Cakes and Ale or The Mass. Blessed Be!

The Sabbat School Class, Lesson 7: Where We Meet!
And this time, you'll be given sone "homework" which can begins some discovery for you! We just finished Yule, and Imbolc is about a month away. While there are many times when it is appropriate to step back and look at the full perspective, we find ourselves at a time when it is especially appropriate. Yule is still alive in our memory, Imbolc is coming, and if you look, you can see Ostara and Beltane on your horizon. Anyone who has gone beyond even pre-dedicant training as a Wiccan or Pagan will be able to relate those Sabbats to the cycle of life, so that's a no-brainer. But let's take it a step further. How do those Sabbats relate to rites of passage of other spiritual paths? You'll see, and then there'll be an opportunity to see for yourself! Blessed Be!

The Sabbat School Class, Lesson 8: Thinking about Tempest Smith Day coming
Tempest Smith Day is February 20th. Tempest Kayne Smith was intelligent and creative. She played the flute, wrote poetry, and sometimes showed an intelligence and sensitivity beyond that normally associated with someone her age. She died on February 20, 2001. She died by her own hand, after the harassment, taunts and teasing by her classmates had become such torment that she could take no more. They harassed her because she was a Wiccan. She was a Wiccan by her own choice. After she passed, a diary was found in which she wrote about the daily torments. Crowds of her classmates singing "Jesus loves you" at her were among the few that I can describe here and retain my "general audiences" rating. And this was in a school in the United States, where schoolteachers talk about how the United States has religious freedom. It somehow did not work that way for Tempest Smith. And so, we commemorate her. And think of the others like her whom we might not know about. And so that we can resolve that it not happen again. Blessed Be!
