Pennsylvanians who think like Rep. Wansacz better wake up and smell the gaming stanch thatâs coming out of Harrisburg, because this stanch isnât the circus or carnival coming to town once or twice a year, casinos are going to be here generation after generation. When you make a vice like casino gambling available and legal its only human nature, it will be abused. We have given our casino operators Carte Blanche to destroy individuals and families, and what sickens me is how many of you refuse to address this fact and the fact that way to many of our government officials are in bed with the casino industry and now they are as addicted to casino gambling as I was, and could care less about the wellbeing of the citizens of Pennsylvania.
Does it make you wonder why our government officials believe that an industry started in a desert over 60 years ago by gangsters, mobsters, shysters, and con-men and they didnât called it GAMING, they called it GAMBLING is going to be beneficial to our society. And does it make you wonder why we havenât seen CNN, the crew from 60 minutes, 20/20, Dateline, Geraldo Rivera, Bill O'Reilly or even the great Michael Moore doing any investigative reporting on this industry. I guess thatâs because they know you would have a better shot of getting vital information out of the Pentagon or the Vatican.
Tom Grey defeats Frank Fahrenkopf in Ohio on 10/24/06
Table games, horse racing, taxes. Pa. Governor Rendellâs first pitch on bringing Gaming to Pennsylvania was to save the horse racing industry, now Pennsylvania horsemen are saying that gaming operators have turned their back on them and are only interested in casino profits.

Watch how our State Representatives who brought the casino plague upon us and our clueless Gaming Control Board members feel about preventing our loved ones from becoming casino gambling degenerates. Ms. Horner has some bio. She is involved in the National Council on Problem Gamblingâs Task Force on Self-Exclusion and a national Exploratory Committee on Responsible Gaming Programs. She has been involved in the gaming industry, as an attorney, since 1996 with experience in providing advice to tribal, state and foreign governments and industry clients; evaluating casino gaming in new jurisdictions; and working with government and industry representatives in the United States and in other countries. She is a professor of law at Rutgers University School of Law-Camden where she teaches Casino Law.

Rep. Pashinskiâs is not that far off when comparing casinos to amusement parks, the only difference is, casinos donât have any safety belts, or cages on their rides. In other words, there is no consumer protection. Now is the time to make our billion dollar casino operators adapt to real safeguards that will protect todayâs and future generations who now live a short distance from a casino from picking up this bad habit.

Miss Horner is the first Pa. Director of the Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling. Like the rest of the key players on our Gaming Control Board her position is part time and she gets paid $145, 00 a year. Hereâs Miss. Horner bio. Horner has some bio, itâs a shame she has no common sense and could care less about the welfare of Pennsylvanians.
You can help save individuals and families from being destroyed by a compulsive casino addiction and at the same time make it an even playing field for those who have businesses that are now unarmed when competing with the casino comps. All you have to do is contact your state legislator and tell them you support (HB 553) and (SB 734) this legislation will make our BILLION DOLLAR casino predators mail their patrons monthly statements, showing their money and time spent gambling? This would enable not only the gamblers but also their family members to spot a loved one's gambling problem before it gets out of hand.
It may be premature to expect table games this year but with the addition of table games at racetracks in nearby West Virginia and competition from other bordering casino states and with no males under the age of forty patronizing our slot casinos along with the great generation who is 60% of todays slots players and who will be leaving the planet shortly makes table games inevitable.
The real flaws in our gaming law is not whether or not we have table games or who owns our casino or if the horsemen got a bad deal, its that there are no safeguards or provisions in place in the everyday operations of our casinos that will protect today's casino gamblers and future casino gamblers from becoming casino gambling junkies. Gov. Rendell, most of our state legislators, Mary Colins, our Gaming Board members, our number one lawman Attorney General Tom Corbett, and officials from governing agencies throughout the commonwealth all know that the casino gambling is a scam yet they refuse to stop our Billion Dollar casino operators from destroy individuals and families.

Wynn more than any other casino operator knows how devastating compulsive gambling is on individuals and their families and yet he has never stopped anyone from becoming what his father once was.

Watch how Rep Dwight Evans (D) intercedes when Representative Douglas Reichley (R) brings up evidence that the Gaming Board was made aware of before issuing Louis DeNaples a gaming license. On January 30, 2008 the owner of the Mount Airy Casino Resort Louis DeNaples, 67, was charged with four counts of perjury for allegedly lying to gaming regulators about his relationship with reputed mobsters.

Gov. Rendell and 'CASINO-AMNESIA'âââââ
November 2006 Gov. Rendell supports the idea of casinos sending monthly statements. In December 2006 Gov. Rendell doesn't want to address monthly statements June 2007 Gov. Rendell tap dances around when asked to give one safeguard or provision in our Gaming Law that address the compulsive gambling problem before one becomes addicted. He invites me to contact him and I try numerous times, but to no avail. June 2008 Governor Rendell says this is the first time he has heard of legislation that would make the casino operators mail out monthly statements.
Check out Ms. Horner bio and you will see why sheâs bias towards the Gaming industry. She was hired by the Board in July 2005 to work in the Office of Chief Counsel assigned to the Bureau of Licensing. In September 2006, Ms. Horner was named the Boardâs first Director of the Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling. She is involved in the National Council on Problem Gamblingâs Task Force on Self-Exclusion and a national Exploratory Committee on Responsible Gaming Programs. Ms. Horner has been involved in the gaming industry, as an attorney, since 1996 with experience in providing advice to tribal, state and foreign governments and industry clients; evaluating casino gaming in new jurisdictions; and working with government and industry representatives in the United States and in other countries. She is an adjunct professor of law at Rutgers University School of Law-Camden where she teaches Casino Law.
Once more the man who was instrumental in bringing the casino plague upon us, the Honorable Governor Ed. Rendell, makes an ass out of himself when addressing casinos sending monthly statements. Listen to how he always goes backs to what theyâÂÂre going to do after someone has a gambling problem. Not only is he clueless on how casinos operate but he doesnâÂÂt even known how many casinos are up and âÂÂFLEECINGâ in our state.
Rep. Paul Clymer introduces legislation that would require Pennsylvania casinos to issue monthly win/loss statements to patrons who sign up for casino reward cards.
