  • Being laid off... It's not fun, and it's happening to more and more people everyday. I've been laid off two times, both within the last year. And to be honest, even though these situations had nothing to do with my personal performance... I feel somewhat shameful about it. I know it's silly to feel this way, however in general conversation, I usually try to avoid the term "laid off" at all costs. Perhaps I feel embarrassed. I mean, if my position were really THAT important it never would have been eliminated, right? Regardless, it's an issue for me, and I'm trying to figure out if other people feel the same way. • This week's crossroad is prompted by a recent conversation I had online with some of my facebook friends... You may have noticed several smaller businesses are no longer accepting credit cards due to the extra fees. If they accept debit cards, they generally pass that fee along to you. This totally irritates me considering 95% of the purchases I make are by debit or credit card, and I have no plans to change that. In a time when we need more money, is it really smart to inconvenience our clients? Shouldn't we be catering to them more? Visit www.sunnygault.com/crossroads to join the conversation!
