  • Bay St. Lois is a bay and also is the name of the town to the west of the bay. At the time of my 2008 trip, the town appeared to be just beginning to rebuild after Katrina. The bridge crossing the bay to Pass Christian had recently been replaced. YouTube Veoh 0:54

  • On one of the nicest (and longest in terms of daylight) days of 2007, I walked about 13 miles ove a period of about 5 hours from my home in Clifton Park to the vicinity of where my daughter lives in Troy, near the RPI campus. Part 3 shows the heart of the Village of Green Island, which reminded me of the quiet neighborhoods of Queens, in New York City.

Naturally, I brought my camera. Part 4 shows my entrance into Troy, some distant views of downtown, the hike up the hill on which RPI is built, and a bit of the RPI campus.

Naturally, I brought my camera. Part 2 moves from the hisoric industrial area of Cohoes to the equally historic downtown area of this small city. I was pleased to see signs of renewal, but I had the sidewalks pretty much to myself.

Naturally, I brought my camera. Part 1 covers the first half of the walk, through a chunk of Halfmoon, crossing the Mohawk, a corner of Colonie, and into the historic industrial part of Cohoes.
