  • Did you ever wonder what its like to be born, or how about being inside womb itself!! This Sutta will tell you what it might be like! Bhante Vimalaramsi is an American Buddhist Monk who has some rather amazing things to say about what the Buddha really taught. He is not politically correct by reading this Sutta, but he (the Sutta) may be right!

  • In this talk Bhante Vimalaramsi gives the full instructions for practicing the breath meditation AS THE BUDDHA taught it. The Buddha did not teach one-pointed concentration which is currently taught by Vipassana teachers, but rather a "knowing of the breath" meditation. One does not focus on the sensation but on knowing of the breath. Then a step is added, as directed by the Anapanasati Sutta MN 118 and the Sathipatthana Sutta, which is to recognize and then RELAX into any distractions. Please see the talk for more details. This is very important.

  • This video was made during a meditation retreat Feb 2007 at Joshua Tree, California. Bhante Vimalaramsi made this so that people could find out who he is and what he is teaching. He is the first teacher to teach directly from the Buddhist Suttas in the way the Buddha taught. He says that much of the Buddhist Meditation today is actually a one-pointed practice which the Buddha found out did not go where he wanted to go. He learned the highest Yogic practices and meditations but left and found his own enlightenment, finally in Bodh-Gaya, India under the Bodhi Tree. This is what Bhante is teaching. He also goes on to talk about the progressive stages of practice which is quite interesting. This talk gives complete instructions. There are no other teachings. You may watch this, practice and experience everything he talks about very quickly with serious effort. Some students experience in only a week what he describes later in the video. Not years, in a week! Enjoy and practice!

  • This is an except from a talk by American Monk Bhante Vimalaramsi on the higher jhanas. In this discussion as he reads the Sutta he relates a story about Dipa Ma when he asked her why she sat so long in her meditation. Bhante Vimalaramsi is an American who is teaching Buddhism differently than most teachers today-directly from the Suttas. When one practices as the Buddha taught, without leaving anything out, progress is very fast and deep. More information and videos: http://begintosee.googlepages.com
